Dr. George T. Kanellos received his PhD in 2008 from the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (Photonics Communications Research Laboratory - PCRL) of the National Technical University of Athens, Greece. His research in PCRL focused on merging photonic integration technology with novel all-optical key-system architectures towards developing high-performance, energy efficient, compact systems for telecom applications. His PhD research involved several research projects of FP6, including IST-LASAGNE and IST-MUFINS. In 2009, Dr. Kanellos joined the MOVe center in University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee to merge state-of-the-art fiber optic technology with biomechanics. Since 2010, Dr. Kanellos is a Senior Researcher for PhosNet laboratories in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki/ Center for Research and Technology Hellas, participating in EU ICT-RAMPLAS research project. Dr. Kanellos has published more than 30 scientific papers and has a citation index of more than 200. In 2010 Dr Kanellos was appointed a Marie-Curie Fellowship.
